Lama is an upazila in Bandarban district in the Chittagong division of Bangladesh. It is the largest populated upazila of Bandarban. The Matamuhuri River flows through Lama Upazila. This Lama Upazila was ruled by the pre-Mughal period, Mughal period, British period and Pakistan. During the war in 1971, Lama Upazila was under Sector 1. This Lama upazila consists of 6 unions. There are several government and non-government educational institutions in the upazila. Lama’s economic sources are rubber plantations and horticulture orchards. This upazila is a completely hilly region.
