Rajshahi is the main city of the division. The city of Rajshahi has located on the banks of the river Padma. it is called the Silk City for its attractive silk garments. The Rajshahi is also called as “Shikshanagari” for its reputed educational institutions. Raajshahi in Bangladesh is a city adorned with ancient traditions. This city was known in ancient Bengal for a long time. It was part of the Pundra Empire of ancient Bengal. The capital of Vijay sen from the famous Sen dynasty was located just 9 km from the present city of Rajshahi. In the Middle Ages,  this was known as Rampur Boalia. According to this source, Boalia is still a police station in Rajshahi city. There are now about 15 software firms in Rajshahi. Moreover, there are about 10 training centers for producing skilled manpower which is increasing day by day.

is no shortage of IT manpower as there are two big public universities and some private universities. Rajshahi metropolis is under Rajshahi City Corporation which is known as “Rasik”. Rajshahi metropolis has been divided into 30 wards under Rasik. it has Rajshahi University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and Rajshahi Medical University.

University of Rajshahi,

Rajshahi  University is the second largest university in the country located in the Rajshahi division of Bangladesh. It was established on 7 July 1953. At present the number of students in This University is about 36 thousand. Notable monuments and sculptures are Shaheed Minar Complex, Sabash Bangladesh, Vidyargha, Spark ( Golden Jubilee Tower, Badhyabhumi Memorial. It is 5 km away from Rajshahi city on the side of Dhaka-Rajshahi highway.

Puthia Rajbari, Rajshahi

Puthia Rajbari is an astonishing architecture located in Rajshahi. There is a humongous door on the north side to enter the two-storied Puthia palace with many rooms. The zamindars or kings ran their administrative works  their affairs from here. The Puthia Palace was built in Indo-European architectural design in the nineteenth century. At present the Puthia palace  under the supervision of the Department of Archeology is being used as Laskarpur Degree College. Puthia Rajbari is located at  30 km away from Rajshahi divisional city and only 1 km from Rajshahi-Natore highway.

Bagha Mosque, Rajshahi

The ancient  mosque made by bricks has 4 domes around it and a total of 10 domes in two rows in the middle. Only  five doors on the east side of the mosque are open , the doors of the north-south walls have been closed.  Lot’s of aesthetic terracotta work can be seen here . There is a special prayer room on the high altar inside the mosque. For which reason this special prayer hall had been used is still unknown. The historic Bagha Mosque is located about forty kilometers from Rajshahi city.

Safina Park, Rajshahi

<p”>Safina Park was  a private initiative in 2012 on an area of about 40 bighas. The only recreation center in the upazila was reopened in 2016 after being closed for almost two years. Decorated with new entertainment arrangements, Safina Park is currently gaining popularity as a recreation and picknic spot for visitors of all ages. Safina Park is located at Dwigram Khejurtala in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi. The distance from Dagari to Safina Park is 9 km.

Martyrs Memorial Museum, Rajshahi

The country’s first martyr’s memorial museum has been set up in the green area of Rajshahi University with a collection of  liberation war. It is Known as the Museum of Liberation War, this museum preserves the history and various memories of the Liberation War. This location is inside Rajshahi University. Rajshahi University is located 5 km away from Rajshahi Sadar.

Utshabl Park, Rajshahi:

In 2014, the park was set up on  an area of about 60 bighas and  it was a personal initiative. Festival Park has added a special  dimension of entertainment of the urban ideology to the  village people. It is located on the banks of Bagha Dighi, and 2 km from Rajshahi Badha Upazila.

Rajshahi Central Zoo, Rajshahi

Rajshahi Central Park and Zoo has been set up on a 32.7 acre site of previously known as  racecourse ground along the banks of the Padma. The distance from Rajshahi city to the zoo is only 4.2 km.

Barendra Research Museum, Rajshahi

The Barendra Research Museum, located in the heart of Rajshahi city, is the first museum in Bangladesh. The Barendra Museum is one of the largest archeological sites in South Asia. It is located next to Rajshahi College in Rajshahi city.

Children’s Park, Rajshahi

The best recreation center is this children’s park in Rajshahi. Built on 12.21 acres of land, Shaheed Zia Shishu Park has merry go rounds, mini railcars, flum rides and other recreational facilities. The children’s park is located at Naodapara Bara Banagram in Rajshahi district headquarters.
