Introduction:

Teknaf is an Upazila in Cox’s Bazar district in the Chittagong division. It is located in the southeast corner of Bangladesh. Cox’s Bazar is located about 86 km south of the district headquarters. This Upazila is bounded on the north by Ukhia Upazila, on the east by the Naf River and Myanmar, and on the south and west by the Bay of Bengal. Naf River flows through the eastern end of this Upazila; region is named after the Naf River. it has many tourist attractions. These include the beaches of Teknaf, the well of Mathin, the hill of the Ne-Tong or god, the bunkers built by British troops during World War II, and so on. In 1930, the thana was turned into an Upazila. At present, there is 1 municipality and 6 unions in this Upazila.


Rohingya-

Rohingyas are also historically called Arakanese Indians. The-Rohingya are a stateless Indo-Aryan people in the Rakhine state of western Myanmar. Rohingya Refugees or Refugees in Bangladesh refers to Rohingya refugees arriving in Bangladesh from Myanmar. As of December 2016, about 655,000 to 600,000 Rohingya refugees took refuge in Bangladesh to escape the genocide that began on August 25, 2017, by Myanmar’s army forces. Saint Martin’s island

It is the only coral island in Bangladesh which is a small island of 17 sq km in the far south of the mainland and 120 km from the district town of Cox’s Bazar. St. Martin is also called Narikel Jinjira in the local language. If you want to go to St. Martin, you have to come to Teknaf from Cox’s Bazar. Saint Martin can be reached by ship or traveller from Teknaf.


Shahpari’s Island

Shahpari Island is located in the far south of the mainland of Bangladesh. It is a village in Sabrang union of Teknaf Upazila in Cox’s Bazar. The distance from Teknaf to Shahpari-Island is 15 km. Fishing and salt farming are the main occupations of the people of this island with only 40,000 people. There are three beaches on Shahpari Island. The province of Maungdaw in Myanmar can be seen from here. Also can be seen in St. Martin’s Island in the mountains of Arkan.

Cherra dwip:

Chhera Island is the southernmost territory of Bangladesh. The Chhera Island is located 5 km south of St. Martin. To the locals, the island is known as “Cheradia” or “Siradia”. Every year thousands of tourists visit Chhera Island to see the combination of the blue sea, the sky and the sunset. In addition, the moonlight on Chhera Island creates a magical moment.

Tainga peak

The tunnel of the black king
